Leadership Harrisburg Area exists to support and strengthen the nonprofit community in the Capital Region. After all, a robust nonprofit sector improves our quality of life with arts and cultural opportunities; by providing a well trained and educated workforce; by positioning local businesses to successfully recruit new employees outside of the area; and by attracting new businesses to settle here.
Leadership Harrisburg Area is a HUB to connect members of the business community with opportunities to serve in the nonprofit sector. If your nonprofit organization isn’t connected with LHA, you’re not maximizing your resources.
Team Projects
LHA’s core program is the Community Leadership Series – a 9-month exploration of Central PA focusing on the region’s strengths, opportunities and resources. Each class member in LHA’s Community Leadership Series (CLS) participates in a Team Project serving a non-profit organization. Service to the non-profit organization is above and beyond the 100-hour series commitment.
Leadership Harrisburg Area added the Team Project component to its Community Leadership Series in 2003 and has served over 63 organizations since with critical assistance in the areas of strategic planning; marketing; feasibility studies; market surveys & research; management planning; emergency planning; and much, much more. A brief description of all team projects can be found here.
The application for the 2017/2018 Team Projects will be available on April 5, 2017 at the Annual Conference.
